Q. I want to be my own boss. Can you suggest a part-time business I can work at out of my home?
A. There are so many legitimate businesses you can work full/part time from home that I would need to have more information before I answer. Questions like, what interests do you have, abilities, experiences, the amount of time you want to spend on it, do you want to work alone or have others work for/with you, etc. Write back when you can answer these questions.
Q. I wrote to you regarding being my own boss and what type of business I could do from home. You asked me to write back with the answers to some of your questions; well, here they are. As I still have a full time job, I can work about 10 hours a week extra. I am interested in the medical/health field and studied health in college. I want to help people be healthier, feel good and look good. Which businesses can you recommend that would fit these answers.
A. Thank you for writing back with your answers. I can recommend any of the health and wellness business opportunities that are advertised in the Modern Opportunity newspaper or on the Modern Opportunity web site. You can find many companies that help people look and feel good. Good luck and keep us posted as to which you chose.
Q. I really want to go into business for myself. Besides the fact that I have two young children, I tend to be easily distracted and am afraid that I am not organized enough to run a business.
A. You are not alone. Many of home-based entrpreneurs are also involved in taking care of children as well as having problems with organization and time management. These are very important aspects of running any business. You can always take out books from thelibrary or buy books on time management and orgranizing; but the best way is to take a course, workshop or seek a specialist who can work one-on-one with you to develop a plan and teach you ways to better manage your time. Best of luck!
